Olive Oil For Hair
Extra Virgin Olive Oil For Hair And Other Uses
If you want to leave your long hair with that wonderful soft and silky look, then I have a great tip in store for you to use extra virgin olive oil for hair. Ideally you should do this if you can manage a weekend of indulgence, where you can apply the oil and then just chill out. I will explain the reason why this is important later in this article.
You will need to purchase a bottle of extra virgin oil and my recommendation is that you buy the best that you can afford. You will also need a head towel and some type of shower cap.
Next give your hair a good wash and shampoo as normal and simply towel dry. Then pour a good amount of the extra virgin olive oil into your hands and rub together. Then apply to your wet hair and slowly massage into the scalp. Continue to do this for around ten minutes and depending on the length of your hair, you may need to add more oil. Always work from top to bottom and make sure that all of the hair is coated.
Wrap your hair in a towel, a proper hair towel is ideal, and then put on a shower cap. This will simply avoid creating a mess of your pillow case. It is important to leave this overnight.
When you awake the next morning, it is time for a shower and to take the next steps with your hair. Shampoo as normal and then dry your hair as normal, having first allowed your hair to rest in a towel for around 15-30 minutes. Now the reason I said to try and do it over a weekend is that initially your hair may look flatter than usual, but soon you will see a major difference in the sheen and especially the wonderful shine.
I would recommend that this treatment is then done once every six to eight weeks using extra virgin oil for your hair, and over the period of six months, people will want to know your secret.
Olive oil, as you may already know can be used for many things and a daily dose of this is also recommended. You can take this orally if the product is of a high standard, but I prefer to have it fixed with some lemon and added to a nice salad bowl as a dressing. Many people have also tried adding a little lemon to the oil and applying that to the scalp and hair, but it is not something I have tried myself.
It is also a very good product to rub into the nails and cuticles and again leave to absorb overnight. There appear to be many uses for this product and I remember my Mom using it as a cure for ear wax. She would carefully heat a little oil in a spoon and then apply to a cotton bud and place into the ear, allowing it to flow in to the inner ear. Then after five minutes or so, the person would turn their head and allow it to flow back out after it had broken down the wax. You do of course need to be careful with the temperature of the oil when heated, so always test that first, that it is warm but not hot.
Several Italian friends I know also use this on the skin as a moisturiser. Again I haven’t done this myself, so can only speak from what they have told me, and their skin certainly looked amazing. clearly it is a versatile product with many uses and there are a ton of varieties available.
I hope you have found this article on extra virgin oil for hair to be useful.
